Vodafone Romania gains almost 1 million new clients in past year

Vodafone Romania recorded 967,000 new clients in the fiscal year 2007/2008 to a total of 8,921,000 clients, according to the results made public by the company.

In Q1 2008, Vodafone Romania supplemented its client base by 113,000. Versus the fiscal year 2006/2007, the client base of Vodafone Romania rose 12.2%. The company recorded an annual rise in the base of subscriptions by 19% in the 1 April 2007 - 31 March 2008 period. Vodafone Romania posted an operational profit of 558 million euro in the fiscal year 2007 - 2008 that ended on 31 March, up over 11% versus the previous year, when the profit amounted to 502 million euro. The total revenues reached 1.18bn euro, with an annual rise of 11% (22.6% in dollars). The revenues from services have risen 10.4% (21.9% in dollars) in the past year to a total of 1.122bn euro (1.590bn dollars). 'We are very pleased with the financial results posted in the past fiscal year, for all the financial indicators. We continue to record a healthy increase in revenues and an increased demand from our clients also for other types of services, in addition to the traditional, voice one', said Liliana Solomon, CEO of Vodafone Romania.
