Romcarbon wants to become regional leader of green industry

Producer of plastic plates and bars Romcarbon, based in Buzau (southern Romania), a company held by Taiwanese and Swiss investors, aims at becoming a regional leader of the green industry, (which uses as raw materials recyclable waste), with total investments this year expected to reach 53.69 million RON.

Ileana Banucu, deputy general manager of Romcarbon, said the company intends to develop its recycling capacities and to extend to other states in the region, such as Ukraine, Serbia and Macedonia. Romcarbon is the first company in the green industry in Romania listed on the stock exchange. Ileana Banucu explained that the promotion of the Romcarbon shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) aims at attracting investment which might benefit from more transparent information about the company. Romcarbon bets this year on a growth in turnover and on a profit of approximately 9 million RON, after having hit last year 432,000 RON. Such optimistic perspectives are related mainly to the evolution of the car making industry in Romania, with the company making car filters too.
