Gerocossen intends to extend to Middle East market

Gerocossen, the fifth biggest maker of cosmetics in Romania, could extend its exports in the market in the Middle East, said in an interview for Rompres the company's marketing manager Andreea Sas.
The company currently holds 10 percent of the domestic market of hair dyes and some eight percent of face skin care products, and Sas said Gerocossen intends to develop its distribution network in Romania.
Most appreciated are the face skin care products, the hair dyes and the solar protection products. They are in high demand in countries such as Morocco, Kuwait, Italy, Spain, where they are currently exported.
Set up in 1991, the firm has had three shareholders from the very beginning. In 2007, it posted 14 percent in profit, the estimates for 2008 say the profit will stand at 18 percent this year.
The sums invested in research amount to 3-5 percent of the company's turnover, between 1 and 2 percent of the turnover goes to environment protection.
Gerocossen now holds a portfolio of more than 100 products.
