Carapatina buys Herculane Water

Carpatina, one of the most important players of the Romanian market of mineral water purchased earlier this week the producer of still mineral water Herculane Water, the company informs.

Carpatina diversifies the portfolio of products through the sale of still mineral water from Herculane spring. ‘'The Herculane spring is a strategic acquisition. Now, our offer includes a product for each consumption segment on the market of mineral water: Lipova and Carpatina Forte - natural carbonated mineral water, Carpatina Light - lightly carbonated natural mineral water and Carpatina still water - still water from the Herculane spring,'' said Mihai Bratu, president of Lipomin. According to recent surveys, the average consumption of mineral water in Romania is much lower than the European level. Over the past years, the consumption of mineral water in Romania has constantly increased. Carpatina bottled natural mineral water from Herculane spring will increase the sales of Carpatina and Lipomin. The spring of mineral water at Herculane was first recorded 2000 years ago and developed at its highest in the 18 th century when Herculane was considered a haven of peace and quiet. Carpatina entered the portfolio of Lipomin in February 2006 through the acquisition of the majority stake. In 2007, Carpatina and Lipomin bottled and sold 74 million litres of water, with sales worth 10 million euros.
