Gross average salary in the economy stood at 1,146 RON (326 euros) in 2006, and the net average salary stood at 1,099 RON.
Notaries occupied about 70% of the positions of the highest three incomes derived from liberal professions in 2005, according to the National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) data.

Despite high incomes, notaries were not among the top ten best-paid liberal professions in the country in 2005, where lawyers accounted for most of them.
