Metropolitian farming land - gold mine for investors
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 18 Iunie 2008
The difference in price between farming land in Romania, with a national average of 2,000 RON/ha, and farming land in the EU states, with an average of 6,000 euros/ha, makes the farming plots in Romania attractive for real investment, if the land can be included in localities, daily Bursa quotes experts from real estate consultancy company EuroMetropola as saying.
One of the projects which, for some years make real estate speculators look interested, is the future Bucharest Metropolitan Area (ZMB), it says that a large farming area can be turned into land inside the city, good for real estate. According to the ZMB project, ZMB could include six towns in southern Romania, Giurgiu and Oltenita among them, as well as 87 villages in the counties of Ilfov, Giurgiu and Calarasi. To the north, Bucharest would be neighbouring the county of Prahova, to the south, Bulgaria. ZMB would stretch over 5,046.1 sq km, 20 times more than the Bucharest of today.
Transport Minister Ludovic Orban recently said an airport will be erected out of Bucharest, at Adunatii Copaceni, the price of land has subsequently went up there.
PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, for his part, said that he support the continuation of the building of a navigable channel, turning Bucharest into a Black Sea port, Eurometropola says.
It also says the yields of investment in farming land will be higher and higher, on a short and medium term.
