Brokers say the stock exchange must list state shares
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 18 Iunie 2008
Steps taken by the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) to develop the market are insufficient to attract a larger number of investors.
Brokers are requesting better promotion of the exchange.
Some brokers say BVB should list state shares and promote its instruments to investors. 'People still do not know what advantages there are on a stock exchange. Moreover, I think BVB should continue to reduce fees,' said the President of Intercapital Invest brokerage house, Razvan Pasol, quoted by Business Standard.
The General Manager of Vienna Investment Trust, Adrian Simionescu, says the market requires more communication. The stock exchange has had a more active presence lately. Other brokers say the problem does not lie with BVB, but with the brokers.
'Brokers should chase investors, to bring companies onto the market,' added Laurentiu Floioru, Transactions Manager of EFG Eurobank Securities.
