Top four baking companies, 437 mln euros in turnover

Vel Pitar, Titan, Boromir and Dobrogea Group, the main four players on the domestic market of milling and baking, evaluated at some 2 billion euros, estimate for this year a growth of at least 10 percent of their businesses, on the background of the product range diversification, as well as of some significant investments, the cumulated value of these companies going to attain some 437 million euros, according to Business Standard daily.

Vel Pitar Group, the biggest player in the filed, is targeting a turnover of 150 million euros compared to 130 million euros last year. The group holds bread factories in ten counties and in Bucharest, having more than 170 own stores. In the first quarter of 2008, Vel Pitar business advanced by some 86 percent from the similar period of last year, to 36.7 million euros. Boromir hopes to attain 121 million euros in turnover compared to 110 million euros last year, whereas Titan, controlled by Austrian Leipnik Lundenburger Invest (LLI) Euromills, stakes on a turnover of 100 million euros, a hike of more than 40 percent as against 2007. Leader on the flour segment, Dobrogea Group, is targeting a turnover of 67 million euros, 12 percent higher than last year, following the brands consolidation and expansion on new markets.
