Indexes on the Bucharest Stock Exchange drop 1% on closing, on low liquidity

Romanian stocks at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) lost more than 1 percent on closing, in line with other stocks in the region, on a lower liquidity. Liquidity lowered 32.3 percent to 21.93 million lei (5.97 million euros), versus 32.44 million lei in the previous session.

The main European stocks witnessed significant drops at the closing hour in Bucharest. The FTSE index in London dropped 1.27 percent to 5,636.10, the DAX index in Frankfurt fell 1.58 percent to 6,615.24 and the CAC 40 in Paris lost 2.09 percent to 4,495.35.In Romania, the BET index measuring the ten best companies on BSE, dropped 1.73 percent to 6,891.46 and the BET-C composite index tracking all listed shares minus investment funds dipped 1.96 percent to 4,913.68.The BET-FI index of the five financial companies known as SIFs lost 1.5 percent to 51,330.74 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna fell 1.15 percent to 15,931.29. Second lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) was the most liquid stock today, with deals of 3.24 million lei and lowered 2.91 percent to 20 lei. Fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) cheapened 2.14 percent to 0.411 lei, on deals of 2.35 million lei.The country's biggest petrol company Petrom (SNP) lost 2.04 percent to 0.481 lei.SIF Oltenia (SIF5) dropped 1.06 percent to 2.80 lei, SIF Moldova (SIF2) lowered 1.42 percent to 2.09 lei, SIF Muntenia (SIF4) slipped 0.61 percent to 1.64 lei, SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) lost 2.62 percent to 2.23 lei and SIF Transilvania (SIF3) fell 1.83 percent to 1.61 lei.
