SIF acquisitions halve down in May

Stock acquisitions by Financial Investment Companies (SIF) in May stood at 5.1 million euro, almost half the amount placed in the first quarter of 2008, reports Business Standard. Investments made by the SIFs are small, especially in terms of liquidity, but brokers say their strategy is appropriate for the current market situation.

The SIFs had some 60 mln euro in cash and accounts at the end of May. In Q1 the SIFs acquired shares worth some 10 mln euro from the Stock Exchange, with SIF Moldova leading by the amount of such acquisitions. Sursa: http://www.rompress.ro
