Anchor to invest EUR 10 M in the expansion of the Plaza Romania Trade Center

Turkish real estate developer Anchor will invest EUR 10 M in the expansion and restoration of the Plaza Romania Trade Centre in Bucharest, an operation that will provide space for the opening of thirty new shops, the company announced yesterday.

“The expansion consists in the building of another storey, over the surface of the G-Market, providing space for a new hypermarket. Moreover, a new mezzanine will be built in the same sector, accessible from the first floor,” a press release issued by the Anchor Group shows. The restoration of the trade centre is due to be finalized this year and expansion works will be finished by the beginning of the year to come. During the expansion works, customers’ access to the trade centre will not be affected. The Plaza Romania Trade Centre, located in District 6 of Bucharest, on the Timisoara Boulevard, was opened in 2004 and annually attracts 13 million visitors. The lots and buildings owned by the trade centre were evaluated by the company in last year’s autumn, at over RON 310 M (EUR 93 M.) Anchor Group, part of the Turkish group Fiba, announced in March the intention to carry on total investments of EUR 780 M in Bucharest and Chisinau, in trade centers, residential projects and office buildings.
