More than 30 Romanian investors buy OMV, Erste and Raiffeisen shares on Vienna Stock Exchange

More than 30 Romanian investors acquired last month, in deals worth tens of thousands of euros, OMV, Wienerberger, Erste Bank and Raiffeisen shares, on the Vienna Stock Exchange.There were mostly individuals who bought the shares, said a representative of BT Securities, a brokerage company having brokered the trades on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

At the same time, the BT Securities official explained that the exposure on the Vienna Stock exchange of its customers stands below 10 percent of the total portfolio.'We are now testing the operation methods, with customers needing to get used with the quotations in euros too,' Rares Nilas, manager of brokerage company BT Securities said. According to representatives of the BT Securities, Romanians who invest in the Stock Exchange in Austria buy mainly shares of companies operating in Romania, shares the brokerage company also recommends to such local investors. 'We are making research on companies operating in Romania. nevertheless, we will try to cover a larger part of the market as soon as we get used to it,' Nilas said.He added that those who use this new service are usually investors with experience on the local stock exchange and with large portfolios on this market. The BT Securities representatives do not expect a significant increase in the number of investors who use this service, at least in the next three-four months, with the plan of the company being that both the customers and the brokers get familiarized with the trading on an external market, with the same operation method.
