Wimmer: BCR will be listed on stock market in October 2009

BCR, the biggest bank in Romania, will be listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) at the term established by its majority shareholder, said the outgoing CEO of the bank, Manfred Wimmer, who officially handed over the helm of the bank to his successor, Dominic Bruynseels.

'Under the privatization contract, the deadline for listing BCR on BVB is October 2009, and our commitment stands,' Wimmer said in the handover ceremony. Manfred Wimmer reminded the strategy of BCR remains the dynamic development, adding in Q1 2008 BCR reached 580 units, 1,550 ATMs and 30 Private Banking offices.
