Leumi betting on Israeli investors for a 3 pct market share
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 18 Iulie 2008
Bank Leumi, one of the small and innovative banks in Romania, plans to reach a 3 percent market share by 2012.
Most of Bank Leumi's clients are Israeli companies, with investments in real estate and construction, says the bank's Deputy General Manager, Manfred Rauchwerger.
'We want to provide good services to clients, so they come back. The Romanian market has changed a lot since last year, when we developed our strategy,' the Business Standard daily quotes Rauchwerger as saying on Friday.
In the first quarter of 2008, Bank Leumi's assets increased by over 80 percent. Manfred Rauchwerger said this is due to the fact that Bank Leumi has become better known on the market, following an advertising campaign.
'In the first quarter we launched products for individuals and companies,' said Rauchwerger. Leumi is due to launch a further three products for small and medium-sized companies this September.
