5,600 joint ventures registered in first five months this year

5,600 joint ventures were registered in Romania in the first five months this year, with total subscribed capital worth 6.858 billion RON, or 1.9 billion euros, reads data from the National Statistics Institute, INS.

This May, registered were 1,098 joint ventures, with a total subscribed capital of 32.096 million RON, or some 8.9 billion euros. The highest number of such companies were registered in Bucharest - 393, Timis, western Romania - 71, Bihor, west - 59, Cluj, center - 58, Arad, west - 44, and Ilfov - south - 38. This May, no joint venture was registered in Vaslui, east, and only one was registered in Gorj, south-west. This May, the biggest number of foreign investors came from Italy - 203, Hungary - 129, Germany - 86, Cyprus - 73, Spain - 72, Israel - 61, Austria - 55, France - 44, China - 44 and Turkey - 43.
