Romanian stocks continue to grow, add another 1.42% on closing

Stocks listed at the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) gained 1.42 percent at closing on the BET-XT index helped by strong advance of banks, led by Erste.
Liquidity idled at 22.27 million lei, close to the 22.10 million lei at closing on July 18. The BET index of the ten best companies on the market added 1.69 percent to 5,832.12 and the BET-C composite index measuring all listed shares minus investment funds rose 1.47 percent to 4,325.28. The BET-FI index of the five financial companies SIFs advanced 0.73 percent to 37,361.91 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna nudged up 2.79 percent to 13,806.24 underpinned by healthy increase of Erste Bank. The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies on the market increased 1.42 percent to 625.54 and the BET-NG index reflecting the evolution of the ten power companies added only 0.38 percent to 781.39. At the closing hour in Bucharest most European bourses advanced significantly after the largest retail bank in the U.S. Bank of America posted a better-than-expected second quarter net profit of 3.41 billion dollars. The FTSE index in London added 0.83 percent to 5,421 and the DAX index in Frankfurt climbed 1.35 percent to 5,468. The CAC40 index in Paris grew 1.26 percent to 4,353. The second largest publicly traded lender Banca Transilvania (TLV) generated the highest liquidity on the market of 4.68 million lei and increased 4.86 percent to 0.3020 lei.Oil company Petrom (SNP), the largest in Romania, saw deals of 3.13 million lei after a stake with 2 million shares was sold through a special deal for 818,000 lei. Shares rose 0.96 percent to 0.42 lei. SIF Transilvania (SIF3) remained at 1 leu while SIF Oltenia (SIF5) cheapened 0.44 percent to 2.24 lei. SIF Muntenia (SIF4) climbed 1.72 percent to 1.18 lei.Austrian-based lender Erste Bank (EBS) listed at the international tier and the majority owner of Romania’s largest bank by assets Banca Comerciala Romana, added 6.52 percent to 152 lei on deals of 1.47 million lei.
