Vodafone Romania’s Q1 revenues increase 7.6 pc

BUCHAREST - Vodafone Romania, the local arm of world’s biggest mobile-phone company by sales, said revenues added 7.6 percent year-on-year in the first fiscal quarter which ended on June 30, according to a company release.

Vodafone Romania registered 335,000 net additions in the first quarter of the financial year 2008-2009, for a total of 9,256,000 customers, corresponding to a 12.8 per cent annual growth of the average customer base. “We are very pleased with our financial performance achieved in the past fiscal quarter. Vodafone Romania continues to register a healthy growth in service revenue, despite the mature market environment we are operating in and the adverse impact generated through regulatory decisions. Romania continues to be the main driver of organic growth in Eastern Europe for Vodafone Group, in an increasingly competitive market,” said Liliana Solomon (photo), Chief Executive Officer Vodafone Romania. Average revenue per user reached EUR 10.3 in the first three months of the fiscal year started in April compared to EUR 9.7 in the last quarter which ended on March 31. Postpaid subscribers accounted for 36.1 per cent and prepaid for 63.9 per cent of Vodafone Romania’s total customer base, which shows a 4.6 per cent increase in the number of post paid customers, as compared to previous quarter, ended March 31, 2008. Vodafone Romania saw 11 percent higher revenues to EUR 1.184 bln from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008, according to results issued by the mother company at the end of May. Incomes from services gained 10.4 percent last year reaching EUR 1.122 bln. Vodafone Romania counted 967,000 new clients in the financial year 2007-2008, up 12.2 percent versus the previous year, reaching 8,921,000 clients. Sursa: http://www.nineoclock.ro
