Romet group posted turnover worth 100 mln euros in H1

Romet group, with activities in agriculture and the water equipment industry, controlled by businessman Constantin Toma, posted turnover worth 100 million euros in the first half of 2008, daily Business Standard informs.

'The industrial division advanced 14 percent compared to the first six months last year, to 68 million euros, and as concerns profit, we are estimating this to amount to some 3 million euros,' daily Business Standard quotes Toma as saying. The activities in agriculture generated income worth some 23 mln euros. Romet is one of the leading companies in the water equipment industry and estimates 15 percent higher turnover in 2008. Investments amount to about EUR 11 mln. Romet will open a pipe factory this year, in collaboration with a Turkish partner. Toma recently announced that he and Shari Arison, Israel's most powerful business woman, will invest a minimum of 1 billion euros to rehabilitate Romania's water networks.
