Macon, Simcor, expect cumulative sales in excess of EUR 70 M
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 25 Iulie 2008
The cumulative sales of the Deva-based Macon company and of the Oradea-sited Simcor Group will exceed 70 million euros in 2008, representatives of Enterprise Investors (EI), the Poland-registered private equity trustee that controls the two businesses, told a press conference on Thursday.
Seeking the leading position in the local industry, Macon Deva acquired building materials producer Simcor Group Oradea for 53 million euros. Macon Deva, which was taken over by EI in 2006, posted in 2007 a turnover of 40 million euros, by 28 pct higher than in 2006; the net profit also advanced 68 pct. In 2007 Simcor Group reported a turnover of 25 million euro and expects to reach 30 million euro at the end of the current year.
Simcor Group's takeover by Macon Deva was financed by EI by a EUR 26 million share capital increase with Macon, from a banking loan plus Macon's own funds, said EI partner Cristian Nacu.
The new player emerged by the integration of the two companies will be the largest cellular concrete producer - with a yearly production capacity of 800,000 cm - and the second-largest by the output of concrete prefabs and lime, said Macon Deva director general Marius Marin.
