Transelectrica reaches maximum wind energy capacity
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 31 Iulie 2008
State-owned Transelectrica energy transport company and electricity distribution operators have given approval to install wind plants of over 2,000 MW, which is the system's maximum capacity, said Stelian Gal, Transelectrica's General Manager.
This means that investors who will request approval for wind plants hereon after must accept the risk that Transelectrica will not transport their production, reads te daily Business Standard.
Gal said the company will give approval if the system's safety is not affected. He added that the fact that maximum capacity was reached will not block investments in wind plants and the only limitations will be the spreading of investments in time, simultaneously with strengthening the transport network and balancing the electrical system.
A Ministry of Economy and Finance Commission will draw up a policy for wind energy. The document is to establish the way in which approvals are given.
