Central Bank's governor presents quarterly report on inflation

Governor of Romania's Central Bank (BNR) Mugur Isarescu is to present on Monday, at press conference, a quarterly report on inflation.

The 2008 inflation forecast stands at six percent.

The inflation rate on June stood at 0.28 percent, and the annual inflation (June 2007- June 2008) went up slightly, to 8.61 percent, from the 8.46 percent in May, the National Statistics Institute said.

Although on the rise, the annual inflation June - June stood under the level of March, of 8.63 percent, or of April, of 8.62 percent.

In H1 2008, the cumulated rate of inflation stood at 3.57 percent, and the average monthly rate at 0.6 percent, compared with 0.3 percent in 2007.
