Foreigners inject 296 million euros on Stock Exchange in H1, by 53 pct more compared with withdrawal

Injections of foreign capital on the Stock Exchange totalled 296 million euros (1.086 billion lei), that is by 53 percent more compared with the withdrawals having stood at 192.83 million euros (709.3 million lei), according to data centralized by the National Securities Commission (CNVM), published on the body's Web Page.

The volume of acquisitions operated by the foreign investors January through June on the domestic market totalled 401.37 million euros, 1.47 billion lei respectively, with the volume of sales on the capital market having reached 409.06 million euros (1.5 billion lei) and with the net sales having stood at almost 7.7 million euros.

The injections of foreign capital on the Stock Exchange in June totalled 28.12 million euros (102.8 million lei), compared with the withdrawals having reached 33.77 million euros (123.46 million lei), according to data centralized by the National Securities Commission.

The volume of acquisitions by foreign investors on the Romanian market in June 2008 totalled 48.87 million lei, 178.68 million lei respectively, with the volume of sales on the capital market having stood at 54.9 million euros (200.71 million lei) and with net sales having reached 6 million euros.

Investors from Cyprus bought shares worth 30.22 million euros in June (61.85 percent of the total acquisitions by foreigners), followed by investors from the British Virgin Islands - 2.5 million euros (5.12 percent), Cayman Islands - 2.49 million euros (5.11 percent) and Luxemburg - 1.83 million euros (3.75 percent).

In the abovementioned interval, investors from the US sold shares worth 30.61 million euros (55.77 percent of the total sales by non-residents), followed by those from the UK - 3.37 million euros (6.15 percent) and Austria - 3.31 million euros (6.04 percent).
