Raiffeisen Bank assets in Romania - up 3.6 pc

The Raiffeisen Bank Assets in Romania increased with 3.6 per cent during the first trimester, reaching EUR 5.803 billion, and the territorial network reached 472 units, 34 more than the number of units registered at the end of last year, according to the financial results announced yesterday by the Austrian banking group, Mediafax informs.
During the first six months of the year, 75 new bank subsidiaries were inaugurated in Southeastern Europe, and the most of them in Romania. Our country is followed by Bulgaria, where 27 new subsidiaries were opened.
On July 30, Raiffeisen international was operating a network of 3,077 subsidiaries. The number of Raiffeisen employees in Romania reached 6,608 persons by the end of June. The assets of Raiffeisen International, controlled by Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG (RZB), part of the Raiffeisen group that owns 69 per cent of the shares, increased with 10.9 per cent, in order to reach EUR 86.99 billion.
During the six month mentioned, Raiffeisen Bank registered a net profit of EUR 565.7 M, which was a rise of 40.9 pc to the profit of EUR 401.4 M reported for the similar period of 2007. The net incomes generated by commissions at Raiffeisen International increased with 22.8 pc, from EUR 572 M to EUR 703 M, as the greatest increase was reported in Southeastern Europe.
The highest increases were registered in Romania and Serbia.
