BCR Asigurari sells gross premiums of 262 million lei in H1

BCR Asigurari sold in H1 2008 gross premiums of over 262 million lei /over 70 million euro/, informs a company's release sent on Tuesday to Agerpres.

Versus H1 2007, the fire and disaster insurance recorded a rise from 8 to 14 percent.

The accident insurance rose 14 percent versus H1 2007 and the general civil liability insurance recorded 24 percent compared with H1 2007.

'The process of diversifying the portfolio of products will continue. We aim at rejuvenating the portfolio and consolidation of our position on the corporate and leasing segments', informs the executive management of BCR Asigurari.

After H1 2008, BCR Asigurari posted a profit of 7 million lei. 'We have Am solutions to improve the efficiency of the company's activity, even if the market records a tendency of increase in damages. Thus, the company recorded remarkable results at some classes of products such as maritime, rail transport insurance and property insurance', the release reads on.

BCR Asigurari operates exclusively in the sector of general insurance, having a network of 172 territorial units.
