Network and product rage expansion boost PTP turnover 35 pct
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 26 August 2008
Importer and distributor of commercial vehicle spares Premium Truck Parts Co. (PTP) expects a 35 pct turnover increase, by over 20 million euros, following the expansion of its distribution network and the orientation towards new market segments.
According to company data supplied to Agerpres, PTP's H1 sales topped 10 million euros, up 30 pct from the similar interval of 2007.
In the months left till year-end, the company expects a faster growth pace following the incorporation in its distribution network of the new work sites located in Bucharest - Otopeni, Bacau, Iasi, Suceava (east), Sibiu, Targu-Mures (center) and Oradea (west).
About one million euros were invested in the opening of the new locations, in logistics and IT or vehicle acquisitions. The company's staff also increased from 60 to 100.
According to PTP representatives, another turnover-boosting factor is the expansion of the product portfolio and the orientation towards new market segments. PTP included several well-established spare brands in its product range, such as Febi Bilstein, Valeo, Hella, Covind, Sogefi Tecnocar, Monroe, Diesel Technic, Eurolites and Hayes Lemmenz.
PTP also strongly expanded this year its first-choice spare offer for the commercial vehicle brands DAF, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault V.I., Scania and Volvo, as well as for semi-trailers.
PTP boosted its offer by entering distribution partnerships with Krafft and Zep for chemical products; Hella - for optical elements; and Chicago Pneumatic and Bahco for tools.
'The dynamics of Romanian economy over the past years also translated in a higher number of commercial vehicles and implicitly into a higher need for specific spares, tools and consumables. PTP's commercial policy is directed towards encouraging the consumers' preference for high-quality products for reasonable prices over low-cost substitutes that are so frequent on the domestic market,' said PTP commercial manager Cristian Cozma.
According to company estimations, PTP currently controls some 25-30 pct of the truck spares and consumables market. The company operates 18 distribution centers in the country and has some 50 well established brands of spares and consumables in its portfolio that comprises several hundred thousand product types.
