Romanians spend most of their lives in their cars, shopping or talking on the phone. Petrol companies, car dealers, retailers and telecommunication companies reached in 2007 record business figures.
In the top 50 according to the 2007 financial achievements, 15 companies are in the energy field, 11 in retail and distribution, 5 are car producers or dealers and 5 are in the post and telecommunications area.
In the first field, the leader is Petrom, followed by Rompetrom Refinery and Lukoil, In the second, Metro is the leader, followed by Interbrands and Selgros.
Dacia works are the leaders of the third group, followed by Porsche Romania importer, while in the last category we find Orange and Vodafone at almost equal levels. The top 50 forms reached a cumulated business figure of 38 billion euros (a third of Romania's GDP).
The classification on business figures changes when we speak about profits or losses.
