BET-C Index reached the lowest level of the last three years

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), correlated with the severe fall of the big European markets and the general index BET-C, closed the day 3.67 per cent lower than on Friday, reaching the minimum of the past three years.

A lower level of BET-C Index was registered only at the end of the session from September 14, 2005. The most liquid ten shares listed with BVB closed the day 4.24 per cent downward, BET Index reaching the most reduced value of the last three years and two months. A lower level was registered on June 8, 2005. The decline of the market was more significant with the shares of the five financial investment companies (SIF), whose index, BET-FI, dropped 5.14 per cent, to the lowest level of the past three years. The transactions totaled RON 15.7 M (EUR 4.3 M), the rollover being 45 per cent bigger against the liquidity of the previous session when the operations with shares cumulated only RON 10.8 M (EUR 2.9 M).
