Euro appreciates by almost two bani to 3.6212 lei

Bucharest, Sept 15 /Agerpres/ - Romania's Central Bank /BNR/ announced on Monday a reference exchange rate of 3.6212 lei for 1 euro, up 1.81 bani (0.5%) versus Friday, when the exchange rate stood at 3.6031 lei for 1 euro.

The US dollar was quoted by 1.56 bani less (0.61%), and BNR displayed an exchange rate of 2.5414 lei for 1 dollar versus 2.5570 lei in the previous session.

The gram of gold was quoted at 63.6210 lei, up 1.42 lei (2.28%) more than on Friday.

The euro is quoted on the futures market in Sibiu (Sibex) at 3.6429 lei for end-September 2008. For December 2008, the euro's quotation on Sibex stands at 3.6908 lei.

The US dollar is quoted on Sibex at 2.545 lei for end-September 2008 and 2.61 lei for December 2008. AGERPRES
