Estimated rate of inflation stands at 5.8 percent in 2008

The National Prognosis Commission (CNP) estimates an inflation rate in 2008 (December on December) of 5.8 percent, and an annual average inflation of 7.6 percent, shows an autumn prognosis published on the site of the institution.
In the spring prognosis, CNP anticipated an inflation December on December of 5.8 percent and an annual average inflation of 7.5 percent.
The target of Romania's Central Bank (BNR) for this year stands at 3.8 percent (December on December) plus-minus a percentage point.
The projection of CNP for the coming years puts inflation at 4.5 percent in 2009, 3.5 percent in 2010, three percent in 2011, 2.6 percent in 2012 and 2.3 percent in 2013.
