Colosseum Center brings 170,000 new sq m to commercial sector

As many as 169,000 commercial sq m will be commissioned in 2012, in Bucharest, when Colosseum commercial center will be ready, British company Modus says in a press release.

British company Modus Properties, which invests in the development of the project, has received the planning certificate for the first stage of the Colosseum project in Bucharest, which is represented by a commercial park of 56,000 sq m, with renting spaces 70 percent already contracted. The commercial park includes names such as Carrefour, Leroy Merlin, Altex and Flanco.

'Colosseum will present on the commercial market the most impressive retail scheme in Romania so far. This is an important step in the process of development of the project, and taking into account also the name of the companies which have already rented commercial spaces at Colosseum, we expect a successful opening of the commercial park, somewhere at the beginning of the year 2010, ' said Mark Chappell, European manager of Modus Co.

The opening of the site will take place in the first quarter of 2009, with a first stage of the project, whose inauguration is expected in the first quarter of 2010, with the opening of the shopping mall due in 2012.

The firms of real estate renting and consulting involved in the project are King Sturge, NAI Property Partners and DTZ.

Colosseum includes a cinema with 12 halls, a bowling hall, with 20 tracks, an elegant restaurant, over 350 stores and 900 parking places.
