Sfantu Gheorghe Town Hall to offer plots of land to investors free of charge
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 2 Octombrie 2008
Sfantu Gheorghe Town Hall (located in the Covasna County, central Romania) has announced its decision to offer plots of land to potential investors free of charge, on condition that they meet certain parameters previously established by the city relevant authorities, Ziarul financiar daily reads in its Wednesday edition.
Thus, the City Mayor Antal Arpad explained on Tuesday that the first such areas in Romania having eyed an accelerated development rhythm there were the capital of the country, Bucharest, followed by such cities along the border or functioning like regional centres, with small towns to follow now in a logical order, like Sfantu Gheorghe (around 61,000 inhabitants in 2002).
According to Antal Arpad, local authorities might accelerate the process to attract investors by making use of several certain methods, among which one will be the setting up of an industrial park on a plot of land found in the property of the city, with such funds to be used for the park the Sfantu Gheorghe Town Hall can provide via European programmes. Thus, the city administration will put next at the disposal of the investors the necessary plot of land, free of charge, on the condition that they meet certain parameters, such as the creation of a minimum number of jobs and the ensuring of a reasonable average wage for such employees etc.
