International reserves of BNR

Romania's hard currency reserves totalled 28.10 billion euros in end-September 2008, that is a growth by 101 million euros, a BNR (Romanian National Bank) release announced on Wednesday.

Inflows of hard currency stood at 1.125 billion euros, while exits totalled 1.024 billion euros.

The gold stock held steady at 103.7 tonnes. However, following the developments in the world price of gold, its value increased up to 2,081 million euros, taking the international reserves of the National Bank of Romania (foreign currencies and gold).

In October 2008, payments due on public and publicly guaranteed external debt amount to 46 million euros.
