BNR announced key interest of 10.25% for October

The central bank calculates the key interest under the form of average between intervention interest practiced by the central bank over the previous month.The BNR decision is in accordance with the central bank status and takes into consideration the macroeconomic evolution and recent monetary evolution. The key interest was increased to the level of 10.25% on July 31, from 10% as inflation went up to a level of 9.04% in the seventh month of the year. In September, the Central Bank Board kept the monetary policy interest rate, according to the estimates of inflation slowing down by the end of the year.
