BVB chairman: Bucharest Stock Exchange in keeping with foreign markets

Thursday's trading session on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) began at relative calm, and the trend was in keeping with the global market trends, BVB chairman Stere Farmache said.

'However, we see certain volatility and nervousness, but the BET index on the whole is within the general trend of the development of the European and regional indices', Farmache stressed.

He underscored that the decision to suspend all trading on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Wednesday had been a positive one, since it had protected the investors.

'The fact that we didn't resume trading protected the investors from volatility', the BVB chairman said, referring to the fact that trading on the BVB was suspended after the shares dropped below 12 percent.
