MDLPL launches first project appeal as part of 2007-2013 cross-border cooperation programme between

The National Agency of the Republic of Hungary, in a partnership with the Romanian Ministry of Development, Public Works and Housing (MDLPL) of Romania, launched a first project appeal for the two priority axes of a 2007-2013 Cross-Border Programme between Hungary and Romania.
The projects have to be submitted to the Common Technical Secretariat for the 2007-2013 Cross-Border Cooperation Programme between Hungary and Romania, located in Budapest.
The fields in which projects can be submitted are transport, IT&C, environment, cross-border cooperation in the field of business, research and innovation, economic and social development. The appeal addresses projects supposing the achievement of studies and strategies, swaps of experience, consolidated partnerships, the organization of events, and projects supposing investment.
The implementation period ranges between 12 and 18 months since the signing of a funding contract, and the non-returnable financial support required has to stand between 10,000 euros and 1.5 million euros, function of the field and the type of project.
The money allocated by the European Fund for Regional Development (EFRD) for this first appeal stands at 16.74 million euros, to be completed by contributions from Romania and Hungary, with the total standing at 19.70 million euros.
From the total budget of a project, EFRD will finance 85 percent of the total costs considered eligible, and the state budget of each of the two partner states will contribute 13 percent, in the case of Romania, 10 percent in the case of Hungary. The difference up to 100 percent will be covered by the partners in the project, from contributions of their own.
For the projects to be taken into account, they have, first, to have cross-border impact, observing at least two of the following conditions: to be developed jointly by all the partners in the project, the partners to contribute to the achievement and implementation of the project with common human resources, to ensure joint implementation of the project, to jointly ensure the funds.
For this appeal, projects can be submitted by by local, regional or central public authorities, NGOs, education and research institutions, chambers of commerce.
