High-class constructors gala

The Romanian Constructors Association ARACO organized on Tuesday, October 21, in Bucharest, the first high-class constructors gala.

The companies that received awards were selected based on six NACE groups: site organization and preparation; construction of buildings or parts thereof - civil engineering, installation activities for buildings; finishing activities; architectural and engineering activities and related technical consultancy; wholesale of wood and construction materials. 10 companies from each category have been analyzed and the first three obtaining profit in the first two consecutive years with no debts to the state budget or the banks have been awarded prizes.

Hidroconstuctia SA, Romstrade SRL and Delta Antrepriza de Constructii si Montaj 93 (Constructions and Assembling) were awarded prizes in the section dedicated to constructors with Romanian capital. Among the constructors with foreign capital the first three rated were Enka Construction and Development BV Amsterdam, Cluj Romania branch; the partnership Swietelscy Wiebe; and Strabag.

The turnover achieved by the first 100 construction companies amounts to 6.429 billion euros, representing 24.70 percent of the total turnover obtained by the 60.760 companies included in the ARACO association.

The rate of gross profit related to the turnover of the top 100 companies is of 7.67 percent.

The prize award ceremony was attended by businessmen such as George Constantin Paunescu, President of ACPR (Organization of Romanian employers), Claudiu Georgescu, President of the Construction Materials Manufacturers Association, representatives from the banking sector, as well as Radu Gratia Ghetea, President of the Romanian Bank Association, Ulrich Paetzold, General Manager of the European Construction Industry Federation, and Alejandro Solano, General Manager of Hercesa, a Spanish real estate company, who addressed the audience.

Businessmen attending the gala expressed their confidence in the Romanian economy, saying they will overcome the current international crisis.
