Superlit Romet SA Buzau eying 20m euros in 2009

The plant of pipes of glass reinforced polyester resins in Buzau will control next year, appraised at 80-100 million euros with a turnover of some 20 million euros, said on Thursday the general manager of Superlit Romet, Ghiorghe Dabula at the inauguration of the production unit of the Turkish-Romanian company.
Superlit Romet stock company is a greenfield investment worth 10 million euros, of which 2.5 million euros is the company's share capital. The company's main shareholders are Superlit Uluslararasi Altyapi of Turkey and Grup Romet stock company of Buzau. The Turkish side holds a 60 -percent stake in the company and Romanians hold the remaining 40-percent.
'Superlit Romet boots the rising market of the drinking water supply, mini hydro power plants, irrigation installations and sewerage industry.
According to estimates in the next 8-9 years investments of over one billion euros will be made in mini-hydro power plants in Romania, some 20 percent of the sum being investments in pipes. The company's exports will go to Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary and probably Ukraine,' said Constantin Toma, vice-president of Superlit Romet stock company Buzau.
As of 2009, the production facility of the Romanian-Turkish company will be of 20 million euros and it might double in 2010 depending on the market's necessary.
The products of the Buzau-based plant are already required for EU-funded projects for sewerage systems of residual water, cooling systems for power plants, irrigations, feed pipes and distribution networks for water supply systems. President of Superlit Romet, Fatih Karamanci, said that the infrastructure is still a hindrance in the development of foreign investments in Romania. He called on Buzau local authorities to take all necessary steps so that investors from Romania might use the Buzau-based military airport, a NATO air base at present.
