Ruuki Romania budgets annual growth of some 50% in next 3 years

Ruukki Romania, the local subsidiary of Finnish group Rautaruukki has budgeted an annual growth of some 50% in the next 3 years, which may lead to a turnover of some 130 million euro in 2010-2011.

Furthermore, the company has budgeted a share of approximately 10% on the market of metallic works, which will reach this year 1.3bn euro.

Ruukki will finalize by year-end an investment of 35m euro in a metallic works production facility.

'We estimate an annual rise of 50% in the turnover in the next three years due to the expansion of the portfolio of products on the local market and finalization of the investment in the three production units at Bolintin Deal', Saku Sipola, the president of Ruukki Construction, Saku Sipola told Business Construct magazine.

At the start of this year the representatives of Ruukki Romania estimated a 2008 turnover of some 32m euro, up 30-40% versus the previous year.

So far, the highest share in the turnover of Ruukki Romania has been held by metal components for roofs. The company has budgeted revenues of some 20m euro for the next 2 years on the segment of constructions of industrial facilities and logistic centres, representing some 10% of the relevant market, estimated at 220m euro.The company will open by end-year the third production unit within the Bolintin Deal factory (south), situated near the Bucharest-Pitesti Motorway.

The factory in Bolintin Deal comprises three production units, out of which two are already operational. Madalina Dumitru, the marketing manager of Ruukki Romania and of Rautaruukki's subsidiary in Bulgaria, told Ziarul financiar daily the 35m-euro investment in the first production unit in Romania, situated in Bolintin Deal (south), Giurgiu County, would be recouped in 3-4 years.

The Bolintin-Deal factory will have an annual capacity of 12 tonnes of metallic components.

According to the estimates of Saptamana financiara weekly, the local construction market and the metallic component one will exceed this volume 1.3bn euro, with the segment of industrial facilities and logistic centres representing some 200m euro out of the total.

Rautaruukki entered the local market in 2001.
