More than 12,600 contracts concluded Tuesday on Sibiu Exchange
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 5 Noiembrie 2008
Amplification of positive price fluctuations acted as a catalyst over liquidity which climbed in the second November session by more than 100 percent compared to the session at this month-start, with a number of 12,673 traded contracts, the Sibiu Monetary Financial and Commodities Exchange informs in a release.
The contracts resulted from 2,574 transactions, worth 8.14 million lei. The trading session had two distinct stages from the investors' interest standpoint. In the first part more cautiousness was shown, but in the second one volatility took over and with it the higher number of transactions.
'After the first half of the session rather 'boring' in volatility terms, investors closed the day with pretty high advances in the context of elections in the USA and of their expected influence upon the financial sector', said Remus Stoica, Nova Invest Sibiu manager.
On the foreign currency derivatives a number of 144 RON/EURO contracts were concluded. For December, the single European currency shed ground against leu, with a 0.5 bani depreciation, to 3.805 RON. Transactions were also focused on March and June next year maturities, EURO closing down by 2.93 and, respectively, 2.48 bani, to 2.92 and 3.945 RON levels.
