Bucharest needs five more luxury hotels

The hotel market in Bucharest needs four or five five-star hotels, and each important city could have, anytime, one or two five-star hotels, said, on Tuesday, Christopher Shonn, managing partner Kohl&Partner Bucharest, the biggest tourist consultancy company in Austria, which has just entered the Romanian market.

'Besides these necessities, Bucharest also needs some 20 three or four-star hotels, addressing business clients, ' said Shonn.

He added that the hotel market in Romania, tourism in Romania, in general, will see an important development in the coming ten of twenty years, companies are necessary offering specialized business consultancy in this field.

'We are offering consultancy both for the construction and the operation of hotels, as well as consultancy for the development of extended tourist projects, to which our training programmes are added. We are leaders in the market in Austria and we have more than 25 years of experience, which we want to use to become leaders also in the market in Romania,' said Shonn.

He specified that Kohl&Partner has already been involved in two hotels, to be developed by Impact Co., in Bucharest, and in other tourism projects in Sibiu, Brasov and Timisoara.

'Romanian tourism is currently focused on Romanian tourists, but it is high time for Romania to draw foreign tourists, and, in order to make money from this field, local, foreign investors or local authorities need specialized consultancy, ' explained Shonn.
