Top laptops for managers

Most Romanian managers opt for HP and Dell when it comes to laptops, according to a Business Standard poll. Main IT distributors agree that these are among the best-selling products for the business environment. 'Besides Dell, which leads sales by far, we also sell LG, Toshiba and Fujitsu Siemens to the business segment. We sold 5,500 Dell laptops since the beginning of 2008,' said Iulian Stanciu, General Manager of Asesoft Distribution, quoted by Business Standard.

Another distributor, Tornado Sistems, said its best-selling brands for companies are HP and Lenovo, partly because these are especially designed for the business segment. One HP fan is the General Manager of Lukoil Romania, Constantin Tampiza. He says he owns three HP notebooks and that he uses all three, depending on his needs. Energy company CEZ Romania Development Manager, Doru Voicu, GB Executive Search Managing Partner, George Butunoiu, and Publicis communication group General Manager, Teddy Dumitrescu, also opt for HP. 'I have an HP tablet PC and an Acer with a very large display.

These are the features I like best. I want a laptop with as large a display as possible,' Butunoiu said. Dumitrescu's second notebook is a MacBook Air, which he chose because it is very light. 'The main problem with PC units is the operating system, while the Mac has a very friendly and intuitive one,' Dumitrescu added. The president of the local subsidiary of cigarette producer Philip Morris, Peter Imre, has a Dell at work and a personal Sony Vaio at home. 'I appreciate the comfort provided by the battery, operating system and keyboard. I work for several hours with each one,' Imre said. Further Dell fans are the General Manager of Neogen web portal, Calin Fusu, and the General Manager of Oracle Romania, Sorin Mandrutescu.
