International conference on Wind Energy in Romania

The Institute of Energy Studies and Projects /ISPE/ will organize on 19 November 2008 the first international conference on 'Wind Energy in Romania' for drawing foreign companies and investors to get involved much more aggressively in the energy and infrastructure markets in Romania.
Moreover, the conference is aimed at identifying the pros and cons at legislative, commercial and technical level referring to the development and implementation of the latest ecologic technologies for increasing energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact.
In the near future, in the context of the new integrated European legislation 'Energy-Climatic Changes' and the G8 Summit in Japan, Europe will certainly face restrictions and supplementary requests referring to renewable energy sources and emission of greenhouse gases.
Among the topics of the conference are: policies, regulations and standards in Romania, related to the promotion and development of wind parks, by taking into consideration the new EU Directives, the wind potential of Romania - the evaluation of the current situation, the problems in the transport and distribution network at national level, financial support -financial schemes based on mechanisms developed under the Kyoto Protocol, success stories from the experience of other countries in the implementation of wind technologies and cooperation opportunities.
The event, initiated by REECO GmbH, through its representation office in Romania, will be organized de ISPE within the International Fair Renexpo South-East Europe 'renewable energy and energy efficiency in construction and renovations' and will be held at the Conference Centre of Bucharest-based Palace Hall.
