Business up 27 pc for Teraplast, in first nine months

Teraplast Group's consolidated turnover reported in the first nine months of the year amounts to 202.76 million RON, up 26.95 percent from the same period of last year, when it stood at 159.72 million RON, announced general manager Florin Urite on Thursday, November 13, in a press conference.

According to him, PVC pipe sales, with a weight of 24.29 percent in the consolidated turnover at the group's level, saw a jump of 37.5 percent from the same period of the previous year, exceeding the growth trend on the constructions market.

In the same interval, the consolidated net profit of the group attained a value of 20.69 million RON, a surge of 36.6 percent compared to the similar period in 2007.

Production sold by the group in 2008, over the examined period, is 173.11 million RON worth, up 43.62 percent from the similar interval in 2007, when it stood at 120.53 million lei. In exchange, revenues derived from the sale of goods dropped by 24.27 percent, from 39.04 million lei in the first nine months of 2007, to 29.56 million lei in the same period of 2008.

In the first nine months, Teraplast Group's investments increased by 65.6 percent on the same period of last year, attaining the value of 146.4 million lei. The majority of these investments were aimed at implementation of the relocation process, as well as the development of the group's production and logistic capacities.

In the five year to come, Teraplast Group plans overall investments in the value of 66 million euros, a great part of them being under way this year and will be continued next year.

Teraplast Bistrita (north) Group includes Teraplast, Plastsistem and Politub subsidiaries.

Teraplast is the largest PVC processor in Romania, Plastsistem produces sandwich panels and metallic structures for commercial and industrial constructions and Politub produces polyethilene for gas and water networks.

Starting July 2, this year, Teraplast is listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange as TRP. Main shareholders in the company, on the reference date July 1, 2008 are Dorel Goia (33.15 percent), Emanoil Viciu (20.55 percent) and SIF Banat-Crisana (11.38 percent).
