International statistics conference organized by INS

The National Statistics Institute, in cooperation with the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics of the Academy of Economic Studies, will organize in Bucharest, Nov 20-22, the 4th international conference of applied statistics, ICAS 4.
During the conference, presented will be over 130 scientific papers, delivered by representatives of the academic circles, specialists of applied statistics and researchers from Romania and other 18 countries of Europe, North America, Asia and Africa, reads a press release.
The themes of the meeting cover a wide range of fields from the area of economic science, statistics, forecasts, economic and social analysis, as well as fundamental and applied research studies, the use of econometric and stochastic methods and statistic-mathematic models, the use of the information technology and operational management.
Reputed Romanian and foreign statisticians will debate two topical issues, namely the proliferation of statistical culture in society and a new version of classification of activities in the national economy (CAEN Rev 2), a basic element in appropriating the statistic culture.
The conference will end with a round-table conference, on Nov 22, which will be moderated by professor Vergil Voineagu, president of the National Institute of Statistics and professor Photis Nanopoulos, head of the Association of Statisticians in the Balkans.
