The 14 private pension funds have collected this month 27.7 million euro representing September's contributions.

ING also has the biggest number of clients - 1.48 million, followed by the AZT Viitorul Tau fund held by Allianz-Tiriac (1.14 million clients). The median value of the contribution stood in September at 8.16 euro in this sector.

BCR Administrare Fond de Pensii drew in September almost 3,000 clients and has thus reached a total of 141,346, a number placing it to the top of the ranking of the pension funds held by banks.
In the general ranking, the pension fund held by BCR is on the 7th spot.
On 20 May, CNPDAS wired the first contributions to the mandatory private pension funds for some 3.2 million employees.
All the employees aged up to 35 were compelled to join these funds, while the fund joining of the employees aged 35 - 45 was optional. The contribution to the mandatory pension funds stands at 2% of the gross income and will increase 0.5% yearly to 6% in 8 years.
According to some estimates of the Private Pension Commission, the mandatory pension will collect until end-2008 the contributions for 4 million employees and will reach assets of 850 million lei (229.7 million euro).
