No cut in staff is expected at Nokia

Manager of Nokia factory, at Jucu, north-western Romania, John Guerry said, on Friday, after a visit by President Traian Basescu that he appreciates the interest shown by the head of state, he gave assurances that the factory he is managing does not face major problems in the context of the current economic crisis.
He said that the business is running normally, he added that there will be a plan for a cut in costs, without saying anything more. John Guerry stressed that Nokia does not require and will no require aid from the state.
Spokesman for Nokia Jucu Monica Albu said, for Agerpres, that no cut in staff is expected.
President Traian Basescu paid, on Friday, a visit to Nokia factory, in Jucu, on which occasion he said that the jobs at this company are sure.
'The production will not be significantly hit by the crisis. Jobs on indefinite time are sure. One essential thing is still to be done, namely a solid partnership between the trade unions and the management, for this difficult period not to affect the jobs,' said Basescu.
At Nokia Jucu, the employers' association and the trade unions agreed, on Thursday, on a 14.6 percent rise in the salaries of employees, in two stages.
