Large companies to opt for minor cost cuts and efficiency on IT budgets
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 25 Noiembrie 2008
LukOil Romania, the local subsidiary of the Russian oil group and one of the largest companies on the local market in terms of turnover, will not increase its information technology budget, as the company's activity is directed towards lowering operating expenses.
Raiffeisen Bank Romania, the third-largest lender in Romania in terms of assets, has an information technology budget of some tens of millions of euro, a significant part of the company's total budget. The 2009 information technology budget allocated by Lafarge, a major cement producer on the local market, to Romanian operating units is 17 percent higher year-on-year.
Valentin Tomsa, General Manager of the SAPRomania software producer, said that in difficult economic times companies should first invest in software which will provide them with a clear image of their cash flows.
