MEF, BNR, ARB to meet to consider injecting capital in banks

Officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the National Bank of Romania (BNR) and the Romanian Association of Banks (ARB) are expected to meet today to identify solutions to diminish the negative impacts on the Romanian economy of the global financial turmoil, MEF Secretary of State Eugen Teodorovici reports.
'Attending the meeting will be officials of the MEF, BNR and ARB as well as of the top 10 Romanian banks. They will discuss a proposal that liquidity be injected into banks, and also the instruments required to diminish the negative impacts on the Romanian economy of the global financial turmoil,' says Teodorovici.
