Hiperdia takes over Pro-Life for €8-10 million
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 26 Noiembrie 2008
The Hiperdia medical service provider, specializing in imagery, took over the Pro-Life company, which has two medical centers in Bucharest, daily Business Standard wrote on Tuesday.
According to data on the market, the transaction could be worth €8-10 million. When contacted by Business Standard, Tiberiu Roth, Hiperdia's General Manager, said the international crisis had no way of affecting the value of the transaction, but declined to specify the amount.
Consultants said that prices on this market have dropped 30 percent due to the crisis. 'Obviously this has been a long negotiation, which began back in March. We bought the entire business, thus becoming the largest imagery service provider in Bucharest,' Roth said. Hiperdia announced it will open five new clinics in Galati, Bistrita, Turda, Cluj-Napoca, and Fagaras by the end of 2009.
Also, the company will open the first nuclear medicine laboratory in Brasov, which will have a single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Thus, the Brasov-based clinic will be a Level 4 Imagery Center - the highest qualification for such a center.
Moreover, the company will implement an online result transmitting system by year-end. Hiperdia estimated €10 million in turnover for 2008. The Pro-Life takeover will boost the company's business to €13 mln. Hiperdia was founded 10 years ago by a group of Israeli investors. In 2007, 65 percent of the company's shares were acquired by the Southeast European Equity Fund II for €15 mln.
