225-ha industrial park to be built in Brasov County
AGERPRES - Romanian News Agency - 28 Noiembrie 2008
Private investors, local administrations and land owners of Brasov County have entered a business association for the building of the largest industrial park in their area that would cover 225 hectares and cost 400 million euros to build.
Among the investors are German Reinert Romania company, the owner of a meat plant at Feldioara covering 8.5 hectares; Greek company Olympus Dairy, currently building a dairy farm at Halchiu that will cover 15 hectares; German company Miele Tehnica SRL, and Austrian company Log Center SRL.
The industrial park will actually cover the entire area of the Brasov communes of Feldioara (120 ha) and Halchiu (105 ha).
Reinert has so far invested 17 million euros in Romania and late next year it will start off the second stage of investments, which will go up to 25 million euros.
Olympus Dairy, currently building their second farm in Romania at Halchiu that adds up to the existing farm in Baraolt, Covasna County, says its investment will exceed 30 million euros in the end.
Miele Tehnica SRL has acquired 13.4 hectares of land at Feldioara and will build a factory for electronic components for command systems, in which it will invest 14 million euros for a start.
Log Center will invest nearly 25 million euros in a logistics center that will stretch over 20 hectares and employ some 350 workers.
Karpat Frigo SRL, a Dutch investor, will build in the area a freezer storage facility covering 2.7 hectares, and Condmag Brasov, another associate to the industrial park project, acquired in 2007 a 6-ha plot of land for 1.86 million euro, for business development.
Austrian Terra Romania SRL has already put up its main offices, a show room, servicing department, warehouse and a repairing workshop at Feldioara on a 3.5-ha area.
At the same time, Romanian and French investors, jointly operating as DML Franco, will build industrial facilities on a plot of land of 16.5 hectares, while Israeli ASIM Development will build an industrial facility covering 15.3 hectares.
The associates have agreed to entrust the administration of the industrial park to ICCO Electric, a successful administrator of another local industrial park.
ICCO Electric official Cornel Rahaian told daily Bursa that, besides the existing investors, there are nearly 30 more requests from companies interested in investing in the new industrial park.
The area is expected to be named an industrial park under a Government decision. The most important advantages of an industrial park, says Rahaian, are economic in nature, as the members of the park are offered utilities at smaller prices than when directly acquired from suppliers.
There are five industrial parks in Brasov County partially or fully operational.
